Rylan-22 months
*You have been repeating yourself lately...over and over again the same thing. Even when we answer you, you go on and on
*You had your first kiss last week from Westyn. I was surprised you were up for it. Your face lit up after and you wanted another one. After you had your third kiss, I think you could sense Mommy wasn't ready for this next step b/c you said, "Mommy, kiss" and leaned in for one :) My sweet baby!
*Also last week, after a play date with Catherine you said, "bye Kaphrine (Catherine), i uv you (I love you)...you're turning into a little bit of a ladies man.
*You don't like having a snotty nose now. You say, "Mommy get boogers." The last two days you've said, "Mommy, booger" and pointed at my face...I'm pretty sure you think my freckles are boogers lol
*You've been having trouble deciding what you want to watch...you go back and forth saying all the cartoons you know and then you get mad when we turn them on. Sometimes you just can't be pleased.
*You are still doing surprisingly well with potty training. You will go in public places sometimes (when I let you...I still prefer to use your travel potty b/c Mommy doesn't like nasty, germy toilets).
*you like to watch videos on my phone when you're pooping...just like a man...wanting to take your time.
*Cameron always says that Rylan is a little OCD...he knows what he wants from others (us, family, the dogs) and expects it to be that way.

39 weeks
Almost 39 weeks now...3-3.5 cm dilated and 75% effaced. Not that this really means much as far as when Cullen will make his appearance. What it does mean is: I am UNCOMFORTABLE most of the time, irritable a good bit of the time and hopefully it means less work on his actual "birth" day.
I'm getting used to the cramping, contractions, pain in my thighs, fatigue (that comes with not getting enough good sleep) and pressure in my pelvis...I'm not gonna know what to do when I feel normal again. But, HE is worth it...as they all are :)
Now as long as I can avoid/ignore people's comments on when he'll make his arrival, or remarks on how hot it is or how big I'm getting I think I'll be fine. I sound like a pregnant women don't I? ;)

Rylan-21 Months
You have started saying "mine." Not in a bossy way, but it still makes me question whether I should let you know that it's rude to say "mine."
I love that you have reached a point where you are not too timid to try and say new words...you had a break through around 20 months and you say pretty much everything we say. And you have said quite a few short sentences on your own which is very exciting to us.
You're learning how to hold your bladder and haven't had many pee accidents this past week. You've pooped in the potty once so far. You still don't tell us when you have to pee most of the time (although you have told me every time today which is progress)...we usually just look for signs or just take you every 45 min to an hour. So far you have told us when you have to poop...the only problem is, you are usually mid-poop at that time.
You still don't care too much for milk since we finally took your bedtime bottle away a few months ago. You will sometimes drink out of a regular cup or out of your cereal bowl, but that's really it. Sometimes daddy can get you to drink it after he drinks it out of your sippy cup. You really like yogurt though and cheese most of the time, so I hope you're still getting what you need.
You love Mexican food (anything with taco seasoning) or food with a little bit of spice...like dirty rice, which you love.
Your favorite thing is probably gummy snacks...it's funny to see how excited you get.
Your two year molars have been coming in for the last few months on and off...they are taking the longest to come it (makes sense).
You love Sesame Street...especially Elmo.
You love being tickled...especially by daddy. Y'all have so much fun playing together when he gets home...lots of laughing!
You don't understand when I tell you that your little brother is in my tummy, but you have said Cullen's name a few times.
Your favorite thing at the park is the swing...I think you could stay on it for hours if I let you.
You've gotten scared more easily or timid in the last month or so...it's kind of weird. Sometimes you're scared of bugs and other times you want to go and check them out. Same with the vacuum...sometimes you go looking for it and other times you whine when I get it out.
You love being the boss...especially with some of the women in the family who love you so much and want to make you happy.
Your favorite book right now is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and you want me to read it at bedtime every night and I never read it as many times as you want.
Most nights you ask for food or milk after we brush your teeth...and we know it's just because you want to stay up longer...sneaky little boy.
You love taking lids off things and putting them back on...like all my hair products, chapstick, tupperware, etc.

Rylan, you have a little over a month to be the only baby...I hope you adjust easily and enjoy being a big brother...I think you will :) I love you SOOO much and am so thankful that God gave you to us...you are such a joy!

Potty training continued...
Yesterday was not a good day...you woke up fussy and wouldn't eat anything. So, while I was trying to find you something else to eat or cleaning up your last mess, you managed to poop twice and pee once in the floor...big set back. The first time you pooped you said, "poop!" and ran to the toilet...so that was good and I was happy with that. But, later on when I was vacuuming up your cheez-its you peed in the kitchen a little. Sometimes you're scared of the vacuum and other times your not...I don't really understand that. Then, while I'm doing dishes you start to finish your first poop since you're still not comfortable going #2 on the potty. By that time I was ready to lose it, so I did what any other pregnant woman with hot flashes and headaches who is trying to potty train their toddler would do...I let the sobs begin. Thank God your daddy decided to come home for lunch that day and he walked in just in time. After that, things got better b/c I didn't have to do it alone.
Today you haven't had any accidents, but I did throw the no diapers/undies out the window this afternoon when we headed to Bridgestreet to eat lunch with Daddy again. We tried to get you to use the travel potty in the CRV, but you didn't. You rode the carousel for the first time today which was exciting :)
When we got home I let you play outside for a while and then you said, "poop!" and ran inside to the garage door. So, I ran inside with you and we went to the potty and took off your dry diaper...I saw where you had started to go #2, but didn't. I was impressed that you didn't pee that whole time and that you let me know you had to poop. We still have a ways to go, but I think things are going pretty well. I'm really glad I have your daddy to remind me not to take things so serious and to help me feel like I can "break rules" if I need to...ex. letting you wear a diaper when we go out. I feel so much more relaxed today :)

Adventures in Potty Training
We started potty training "boot camp" this past weekend. Basically, both parents stay home Friday, Sat and Sunday and the toddler gets to be naked the whole time. Then, for the next 3 months your toddler is supposed to go without undies inside and outside the home.
Well, little man, you have been doing very well. The first day you partially peed in the floor about 4 times and pooped in the floor that night. Daddy and I took you outside for a while and for a trip around the neighborhood with no accidents. Not too bad.
Saturday you had no pee pee accidents, but did poop in the floor again on Sat night. We took you to the park on Sat and you used your travel potty in the back of the CRV...again, so proud!
Sunday, since you had been doing so well, we took you to the pool for the morning/afternoon. You used the travel potty a few times and again had no accidents. Man, this potty training is nothing.
Well...today (Monday), Mommy is so confident in her little boy...I take you shopping. We didn't shop for longer than 40 min in the first store b/c I thought you would need to try and use the potty. So, out to the CRV we go.
After sitting on the potty about 5 minutes, I'm ready to get you off b/c you always go right away when you have to go and I was hot (reminder, Mommy is almost 34 weeks along). But, you insist on staying on it. I let you stay a little longer, but you looked like you were just playing. So, on to the next store. Since you put up a fight about getting off the potty I thought I'd let you try again before going into the next store. I put you on the potty and still...nothing. Not even 5 minutes later...you're peeing and pooping in the store. So, with my blushing face...I very calmly, yet quickly exit the store...trying not to make eye contact with anyone. After a clean up and a reminder that pee and poop go in the potty, we head back in the store to clean up the pee. Luckily, your shorts contained the other. You've done so well with peeing that I wonder if you didn't pee in your potty b/c you were afraid you would poop too. I know you're not comfortable with pooping in the potty yet...I hope you are soon though!
So far, you've done really well and your Daddy and I are very pleased with how you are doing. However, I don't know if we'll be taking anymore shopping trips this week...maybe to the playground though. :)
